Enjoying internal freedom starts with learning about ourselves. This can be a slow, and sensitive process. As we learn about, trust, and start to be ourselves, we discover what it means truly love ourself.

The Beginning and The End

An instructor once said, “Wounds only happen in relationship. And, they only heal in relationship.”

My early life was filled with nature, movement, and authentic self-expression. It supported me to take time for myself, move body in a healthy way, and feel nurtured by my family and friends’ acceptance of me.  

​​

Moving away from that environment and external support taught me that I was reliant on it. Without daily reflections of love and acceptance, I lost my faith that the world was good. I lost motivation, energy, and started to blame others and myself for what felt like an unfair amount of pain and suffering. â€‹

​​

Sometimes the relationship is with another person, but it can also be your relationship to yourself (or other things in the world). 

​

I deeply believe in the process of learning about yourself, practicing trusting yourself, and choosing to be yourself, because I’ve lived how healing it is. I also honor every person that gifted me a healing relationship, because they helped me become internally free.

​

This is why I share this process with you. Even though I’m still on the journey to heal my relationship to myself, and may always be on it! Supporting your return to a healthy connection with yourself​​, is the most fulfilling path I can be on.

Meet Laura

APP (Polarity Therapy), Reiki I and II,

M.S. Aerospace Engineering

As a child, I began experimenting with how to use my body to release emotional tension and physical pain. ​​My passion is to share my 30+ years of experience returning to joy from the heart, through the body, with the understanding of the science describing much of it.

 

I moved from a career in Aerospace Engineering, studying the energetic particles in space and our atmosphere, and how they interact with spacecraft. To teaching, from elementary through University level, all types of science. To founding a non-profit, moving plastic waste into a closed-loop, reusable resource. My passion to help people is tied to how energy moves in the body and in all life. I am grateful to now share, teach, and explore with you how to heal and shift your energy through Somatic Movement and Polarity Therapy.

The Emotions, Body, and Experience

All of these different scenarios have one thing in common. They come from trapped energy in your body. Every experience in our mind or body that causes us pain can be related to a time when we felt that expressing our needs did not resolve them.

 

​​​​Somatic Movement and Polarity Therapy has helped me, personally, to integrate my mind, body, and spirit, by tapping into what's underneath the surface issues. Through it I gain clarity for my life, and release from physical and emotional pain. This gives me energy back, and a sense of empowerment to live the life I want.​ Many people I work with find the same - that it heals their body, gives them more confidence in being their authentic self, and replenishes their energy. A Process to Health

Your body can reveal how to release what feels stuck and painful within you. Whether that’s the same harmful arguments with a lover, a nagging physical pain, or a belief that your needs will always go unmet by others.

A healing session may provide healing for emotional wounds, release from long-stuck patterns (physical, emotional, and spiritual or belief systems), and renewed sense of self-love.

​

The session is experiential, self-expression and play based, and dives into the mind-body connection to break down and release old patterns. At times, this can mean being very still and supported. Or, it can be active and expressive. Together, we follow what your energy (and self) needs.​​​​​
